Lucky is a young colt born on a ship taking horses to work in the copper mines of Nambia. When his mother dies in the harsh labour conditions, Lucky is rescued by a young orphan stable boy named Richard (Chase Moore), and the friendship that develops between the pair gives them both the strength to stand up to the cruelty of their circumstances and make a bid for freedom.
